Positions and Views

The First Thing to Accomplish When Re-Elected:

Once re-elected I will continue to go to the many committee hearings, as I have been to ensure our residents have a voice on Education Funding, Support Right to Work for NH (Freedom to choose to not pay agency fees), Re-instate Parental Notification & Tougher laws on the molesters who prey on our children, speak against any movement to impose a state tax, push for less spending, protect our Live Free or Die Motto, by protecting the NH Advantage of no sales tax or Broad Base Tax, protect our Quality of Life, keep the Government out of our homes and continue to push for Local Control of our Education.

Why You Are Running for Office:

I have given over 22 years of Loyal Dedicated, Honorable service to our country and now I give back to my community to be a voice for many, who do not speak up to protect their rights and to keep Government out of our pockets and homes.

Areas You Would Most Concentrate On:

SCHOOL FUNDING FAMILY VALUES BUDGET DEFICIT PUSH FOR A FULL SERVICE VETERANS HOSPITAL AND TO CONTINUE TO PROTECT VETERAN BENEFITS. CONTINUE TO WORK ON THE ELDERLY AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN MY TOWN

What You Want To Achieve if Re-Elected:

As I stated, once re-elected I will continue to go to the many committee hearings, as I have been to ensure our residents have a voice on Education Funding, Re-instate Parental Notification & Tougher laws on the molesters who prey on our children, veterans issues,  speak against any movement to impose a state tax, push for less spending, protect our Live Free or Die Motto, by protecting the NH Advantage of no sales tax or Broad Base Tax, protect our Quality of Life, keep the Government out of our homes and continue to push for Local Control of our Education.

Derry News Letter to the Editor

People can always count on me to clearly and honestly state where I stand on the issues — who I am and what I stand for, as my record speaks for itself.

I want to ensure New Hampshire stays a Live Free or Die state and that we maintain the NH Advantage. I'll continue to vote in protecting our quality of life. I don't support an income tax or a broad base tax. I'll continue to fight the Democrats on bringing back parental notification and fight for the protection of our children from the child molesters.

I support our 1st Amendment Rights and 2nd Amendment rights 100 percent of the time. I am a strong supporter of the Constitution and believe that marriage is between a man and a woman and the people of NH should vote up or down on a constitutional change. I will continue to push for smaller government and fight to keep government out of our pockets. I support less spending which means less taxes! By sending me back to Concord, it will ensure there is someone looking out for you, who is dedicated and will protect your wallet.

WHO IS STATE REPRESENTATIVE AL BALDASARO?

Letter to Editor Londonderry Times Oct 2008

Thank you for your support and I will not let you down. The primary is over and I am again seeking to represent Londonderry and Auburn in the State Legislature, this time via the general election on November 4th, through which the great majority of the district’s voters have had their voices heard and made their choice for me to represent them for another term.

I heard many of these voices as I moved around the district during my primary election campaign of September 9th, 2008, and I look forward to hearing many more. My ears, my door and my mind are always open to people’s felt concerns, no matter what their party registration or degree of independence from party may be. Given the primary election turnout of less than 11%, you chose me to continue to move forward to the November 4th general election. My number one goal is to be that representative, someone elected to truly represent and serve all people of the district, not to represent and serve myself. My voting record speaks for itself and this is why I am running for re-election and why you voted me in for my second term.

People can always count on me to clearly and honestly state where I stand on the issues, who I am and what I stand for, as my record speaks for itself. I am not one to fudge, indulge in political “spin,” B.S. or double-talk. I believe that a Representative also has a leadership role to play in speaking forthrightly on the issues and trying to lead and inform public debate on them, no longer how “hot” or controversial they may be. So, keeping in mind that I will continue to vote as a State Rep. to truly represent the views of my constituents, here is where I stand on key issues.

VALUES: I hold dear traditional American values of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” the birthright of we citizens of the oldest constitutional democracy and greatest democratic republic in the world, a Republic that seeks to provide the opportunity of each individual to realize his or her full potential and do so via free enterprise in an free, open society.

TAXES: Abide by the New Hampshire Advantage , no new broad-based taxes and seek to lower or not increase those taxes already on the books. I truly believe in Less Spending means Less Taxes.

GOVERNMENT: That government is best that is closest to the people. So, let us reduce the size and scope of state government and shift power and money from the state to the local level. I will oppose any unfunded mandates coming down to us from higher levels of government.

LOCAL CONTROL: Increase it; first, in education schools work best when they are locally controlled and then in other areas as well. Let’s have more home rule. My loyalty is to Auburn and Londonderry Residents.

REFORM: I will work for electoral and political reforms to (1) reduce the influence of lobbyists and (2) to ensure that each citizen’s voice is heard and each vote counts. The Republican Party is a people-based party of change.

MARRIAGE: I support a state constitutional amendment that defines marriage as an institution binding one man and one woman. In my oppinion “Gay marriage” is not a civil rights issue. To define it as such is an insult, both to an institution that represents hundreds of thousands of years of tradition and to the civil right movement.

GUNS: I fully support our Second Amendment rights.

ABORTION: I am Pro-Life and fought to protect parental rights where the Democrats voted it down and feel you have no rights and big government knows better. We will be submitting legislation again to protect parental rights.

My campaign will maximize people’s ability to participate in a political process that should be theirs, in ways that will continue after the election, if I am re-elected so that voters are also assured that their voices will continue to count in ..Concord.. as well as throughout Londonderry and Auburn.
